Battle for State Senate District 39
on March 6th, 2011 at 12:20 PMState Senate races this year are proving to be rather exciting. In the 39th district, we have Miller Baker, Scott Martin, and potentially Steve Hunt.
I went to Miller Baker’s kick-off last week. Decent crowd. Bob Marshall and Corey Stewart spoke. One of the common themes and discussion points in the room was the fact that George Barker voted against the Virginia Healthcare Freedom Act.
Why do I mention the candidates for Senate District 39 now? Scott Martin is having his Prince William kick-off this Thursday. With many people blaming Keith Fimian‘s loss on Prince William, it will be interesting to see if candidates do a better job on gaining Prince William support. I will give the Martin campaign credit, they are focusing on both parts of the district, the Fairfax part and the Prince William part. This is especially important because the district will probably shift more into Prince William anyways.
Here are the details for the Prince William kick-off:
Thursday, March 10th, 7:00-9:00PM
Bill & Candy Reeder’s Home, 7995 Pinnacle Ridge Drive, Manassas 20112
Featuring
Prince William County Chairman Corey Stewart, Prince William Tea Party Lead Organizer Nancy Schiffman
Special Guests
Delegate Rich Anderson, Del. Jackson Miller, Prince William County
GOP Chairman Lyle Beefelt & Tito (The Builder) Munoz

Go Scott!
According to a Martin email yesterday, Corey Stewart endorsed his campaign at his PW kick-off. Wonder what Baker says? Anybody else see that?
Stewart spoke at both. He endorsed neither.
What do you call this?:
“It gives me great pleasure to support and endorse Scott Martin for the State Senate in the 39th District. Scott is a proven conservative leader who has real solutions to the problems we face in Prince William County, and is the ideal candidate to defeat Democrat George Barker in 2011! If Republicans are going to retake the Virginia Senate in 2011, it’s Scott Martin that will make it happen! We need a candidate like Scott that will work hard and take his Conservative Principles and Plans to Richmond to ensure we never loose the Virginia State Senate again! Scott Martin has the integrity, principles, honesty, and experience we need to win in November 2011, and I hope you join me in supporting his campaign.”
Corey Stewart, PWC County Chairmain of the BOS, March 15th, 2011
That’s what Martin sent out….
