Rep. Weiner has told friends and Democrat leaders that he will be resigning in a press conference later today. Now that the very amusing, but soap opera style scandal is over, it is time to get back to work on an even bigger scandal.
President Obama has repeatedly made jokes about the slow growth of the economy, the high unemployment, and the failure of his stimulus package. While the President might be trying to laugh to make himself feel better about his falling approval rates, 13.9 million Americans are still unemployed. If former President Bush had made comments like that, even before the economic crisis, the media would have had a field day. However, our ‘cool’ President is allowed to get away with it. We need a President that will take the economy seriously and be a true leader.
I don’t want a ‘cool’ President, I want one that takes problems seriously.
